praise hands

There are many verses in the bible that speak of lifting our hands to God in prayer or praise.
(For example: Ps 28:2, Ps 63:4, Ps 88:9, Ps 119:48, Ps 134:2, Ps 141:2, Ps 143:6, Is 1:15, 1 Tim 2:8)
Back in Febuary I was asked to do a display for our church that had large hands lifted to God and underneath it, verses praising God.

For fun I thought I'd show you how to make a pair of giant hands. You never know when you may be called upon to do this and now you will be ready! ;)

First I painted two pieces of poster board tan, using craft paint.

Next I started sketching the hands using chalk. This way if I don't like how it's looking I can just wipe it off and start over. As you can see the thumb is way to skinny right now.

When you are happy with your hands it's time to paint them. I took some brown craft paint and thinned it down alot with water. You can always add more paint, but it's more difficult to take paint away. It helps if you use a really skinny paint brush.

After your hands have dried, cut them out.

There you are, two giant hands.

Here they are at in the display. (crooked)
