tablescape

This is my first time participating in Tablescape Thursday. I'm sure all of you tablescaping pros could give me a lot of pointers. Like I've now noticed that I didn't include any silverware or napkins. I guess the poor guests at my table have to eat with their hands and then wipe their hands on their pants! So uncivilized. ;)

My tablescape started with a clearance purchase at Target of an oval basket. I thought I'd fill the basket with some lemon Italian soda. When I got to the store the Italian soda came in all these wonderful flavors and colors. So I bought one of each and decided to do a summery, colorful tablescape.

After I bought the Italian soda, it took a month for me to get around to taking these pictures. This was torture for my son. He couldn't wait to drink the soda! He is so happy now!

  7. Isn't this fun!! I love the drinks--cool idea; but you should never do that to your poor child...what torture!! I love the colorful plate and the green glasses too.

As far as napkins go ...I am always forgetting them (usually because all I have is white paper--but I will remedy that at some time) Hey..looks like you have a little baby?? You are excused for not having utensils...Ha

  16. Hi Lisa...

My friend, I would have never thought to use something like the Italian soda's for a centerpiece...but I love the idea!!! The oval basket that you purchased is just perfect to house the different flavors of soda! Okay...I must admit...I've never had Italian soda...but I'm definitely going to keep my eye out for some...sounds yummy!!! Love your Italian tuscany tablescape too...pretty place settings! Girl, you cracked me up about the flatware and napkins...hehe! At my house, we just grab them out of the silverware drawer on the way to sit in front of the TV to eat! hehe! Ohh yes...love your pretty topiaries too! And...welcome and congratulations on your very first Tablescape Thursday!!!

    Warmest wishes,
    Chari

  22. How cute and colorful! Look, don't worry about leaving things out that you'd normally use. I do that all the time on my tablescapes. And if anyone notices, they never say anything. I'm always after the "display" more than function!

  25. Napkins and silverware? What are those things? Judging from all the laundry I used to do, my boys probably asked those questions.

Your table is lovely. And using the colorful sodas for your centerpiece was inspired! Well done!
