thrifty gift for a friend

I'm linked up to Met Monday and Make it for Monday!

One day I was chatting on the phone with my friend Sarah and she mentioned that one of her favorite fabric designers, Heather Bailey, now has a line of scrapbooking papers.

A light bulb went off in my head, but I didn't say anything to Sarah about it. I went to Michael's and bought these Heather Bailey scrapbook tags and made Sarah's gift with them.

I turned the tags into magnets! I was so thrilled to be able to give her a thrifty but very personal gift.

I've already shown how to make the magnets on my blog before. If you would like instructions click HERE.

  1. I have yet to try these, but yours are so cute! Love that paper. I looked at your tutorial too, and the baby ones are adorable. We have the Little Red Caboose book and when my son was 2 he had it memorized.
    Thanks for linking up!

  2. Those are so cute! I didn't know she had scrapbook paper! I'll have to look for that.

  3. What a good friend you are! I'm sure she will love them!

  4. Great collection.... I have yet to find these in the store but saw them in a Scrappin' magazine.

Merry Christmas... stop by my garden sometime!

  5. I LOVE MY MAGNETS! Thanks Lisa for the excellent surprise. It makes me happy each and every day to see them on my fridge and magnet boards, making the mundane of life oh so beautiful!

  6. I'm so glad you posted these...I had bookmarked your previous post about making these, but lost a bunch of links when hubby rebuilt our 'puter. Hooray!

Where did you order your supplies online? I want to make some for my sis-in-law. :)

And feel free to link up to Make it for Monday...would love to have you!

  7. What a thoughtful gift! I think persoanl handmade gifts are so special. I know your friend is going to appreciate these.
    Happy Holidays! ~ Sarah
