Living with Lindsay is have another Dollar Store Challenge on March 25th! You create Spring decor using only $5.00 worth of stuff from the dollar store. I had so much fun with this challenge that I created three different looks. Here's the first......
My dollar store goodies: a really cool shaped vinegar jar (that I used as a vase), candy eggs, a silk flower, and a wood birdhouse.
I only wanted the blue and white eggs to fill my "vase" and so I spray painted(!) the rest of the eggs. I had to give my kids stern warnings NOT to sneak and eat any of this candy!
I painted the house blue and white. Once the paint was dry I sanded some of it off, for an aged look. I then added a coat of glaze to age it even more.
I lightly spritzed the stems of the silk flower white because I felt the green was too bright. The greenery in the picture is weeds from my yard! So they were free!

Very cool!! Love the blue and white!

ReplyDeleteI definitely wouldn't be able to paint the candies. With my memory, it'd be me trying to dig out the chocolate and getting sick from the paint! Looks really cute though.
