I put together these mushroom plaques last night. Do you want to see how they started out?
I found these little "beauties" at the thrift store for 99 cents each.
I painted the edges of the backs with craft paint.
These are the colors I used. They are my new favorite paint colors. I've been using them on everything.
I then printed out some free images of mushrooms from Vintage Printable. If you've never been to this sight before check it out, it is so awesome!!
I then used mod podge to adher scrapbook paper to the wood plaque and put the mushrooms on top. I inked the edges of the scrapbook paper with some black ink. I used a stain pen on the edge of the plaque.

I had to cut some of the mushroom images down so they would fit.

I added some twine to the top of the metal hanger to give the plaques even more texture.

Oops, forgot to add the twine to this one before I took the photo.
