My Beachy Living Room

It all started when I found this really cute seahorse at Homegoods.
I plan on using it in my son's beach themed bathroom, but it's not quite the right shade of blue.
Until I can get around to painting it I thought I'd use it in my living room.
Just for fun, this summer, I decided to give my living room a bit of a beach vibe.

I found this gorgeous pillow at TJ Maxx and the colors in it remind me of sand and sea.

I just love this fabric!

I gathered up some blue glass bottles I already had and placed them on a tray.
The blue hues remind me of beach glass.

After I took these photos I thought about how my Kubu chairs would have been a more casual look than these "fancy" chairs.
But I like keeping these chairs in the living room in hopes that my boys stay off of them.

A shell I've had for years.

My four year old loves keys and I found these antique reproductions in the scrapbook section of a craft store. He likes to carry them around and pretend to un lock things. :)

Now that I've talked about everything I'm going to leave you with a few pictures of the room.

  1. With the blue paint on your armoire, it seems fitting to add pops of blue around the rest of the room to tie it all together! The seahorse is a great coastal accent in there. I love your blue bottles clustered together on the coffee table. TJ Max (or HomeGoods in my area) has the best pillow selection, don't they?

  6. Oh that seahorse...love it! This room is fantastic...the blue armoire, the NY sign and the keys. My 3 year old loves keys too and is a new fascination with her. That's a great idea for her to have her own little vintage set.

    1. My secret is to keep the kids OUT of the living room! We have a boring brown couch in the family room that gets all kinds of abuse! :)
